NAIDOC Week

The first week of July not only ushers in the start of the new financial year but is also the start of NAIDOC week. NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. The committee has a long-standing history and can be traced as far back as the 1920s. This week is a time to celebrate the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders with this year’s theme focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages.
