How to Spoil Mum this Mother's Day

There is no better way to show Mum how much you care than a day on Sydney harbour. A Mother’s Day cruise can be a treasured gift for the whole family to enjoy, escaping busy city life, chaotic crowds, and relaxing in peace and quality family time on our beautiful harbour. If you’re considering hiring one of our boats this Mother’s Day, we’ve listed some of our favourite Sydney hotspots to add to your coordinates for a memorable family day on the water.

Sail into Store Beach

Sheltered from the city by bushland, Store Beach offers a peaceful haven for families keen to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and relax on the sands of the 200m isolated beach. Snorkelling and kayaking are popular at this spot, so ensure you’ve packed enough gear for all the family to enjoy some time in the water with Mum. Some very lucky families may also spot fairy penguins, who have claimed this secluded site as their breeding ground in the winter months. Restrictions are in place for access during dusk when they are most active, meaning visitors must be packed up and ready to head home before the penguins begin their waddle home for the evening.

Sleep under the stars at Cockatoo Island

Camping is beneficial for strengthening bonds in the family and enjoying quality time away from the disruption of day-to-day life. If you’re looking for an overnight staycation for Mum to remember but are struggling to find time to escape the city for the weekend, climb aboard and sail to Cockatoo Island, offering waterfront views and camping under the stars. Our 26 ft. classic Italian wooden speedboat, La Dolce Vita, is the perfect option for memorable transfers to the island. Feel the sea breeze in your hair as you take 360 views of Sydney’s breathtaking harbour.

Enjoy a picnic after a refreshing dip at Chinaman’s Beach

Chinaman’s beach is the hidden treasure of Sydney’s Middle Harbour, offering access to water sports, without the crowds known to its neighbour at Balmoral Beach. Take a hike across one of the many walking tracks running along the shoreline, or head into the crystal blue waterfront for swimming, canoeing or snorkelling. Chinaman's Beach is a great location to cruise to on your Sydney Boat hire experience, as the travel distance from Sydney Harbour isn't too far, and you can even swim to the beach from the boat! Organise your Mother's Day Cruise onboard Prometheus, a client favourite with a spacious main saloon, sunroof and swimming platform.

Taylor’s Beach

Taylor’s Beach is an easy location to spot, with yachts dotted across the V-shaped bay the moment a sunny day in Sydney arises. Drop your anchor for alfresco dining onboard Sea Raes along with the surrounds of pristine harbour views and the iconic Opera House, or head onshore with Mum for a stroll around Clifton Gardens. Taylor’s Beach is not a spot to be missed on any Mother’s Day itinerary!

Milk Beach

We’re sharing one of the Eastern Suburb's best-kept secrets, but we think it’s worth the risk for Mum!  Nestled at the base of Hermit Bay in Sydney’s breathtaking Harbour National Park, Milk Beach is a small isolated area, best accessed from the water. Enjoy a picnic onshore, or swim in the calm waters of the bay.  Other activities on offer include fishing and snorkelling. Milk Beach is the perfect location to venture to on our sailing yacht hire, Cavatina. With a swimming platform at the stern, access to the water could not be easier.

Lady Martin’s Beach

A popular spot with families, the calm seas of Felix Bay make Lady Martin’s Beach the perfect sailing spot for a day touring the harbour. Take Mum for a peaceful stroll across the long stretch of sand, or cook up a storm in your vessel's well-stocked kitchen for alfresco brunch on the pleasant, tranquil bay.

Cobbler’s Beach

Fancy a mini holiday without even leaving the city? Cobbler’s beach is the ideal family getaway with expansive views of Sydney’s foreshore, historical heritage tracks and ample snorkelling opportunities. Ideally located near Mosman, the beach is tucked away in discreet bushland, offering a unique Mother’s Day experience for an undisturbed afternoon with Mum at the beach.
