Any Boat is a charter boat agency based in Lavender Bay in Sydney Australia. The company was launched in 2009 by owner Daniel Da Silva and since then has become one of the leading agencies in the country.
Over the years Daniel has built strong relationships with boat owners, clients, and other agencies which has helped ensure that Any Boat is at the forefront of charter boat activity in Australia. Any Boat is one of the few charter boat agencies that has access to boats throughout Australia as well as contacts in Europe and the US for those wanting boat hire abroad.
In 2016 Any Boat moved into a new office in Lavender Bay from its offices at Woollahra and now has a staff of 9 ranging from customer service / sales staff to back office staff processing payments and invoices, and fine tuning cruises. In 2016, Any Boat acquired Sailcorp and moved into its offices at Lavender Bay. This has helped Any Boat expand into the sailing segment and now oversees a thriving sail tour operation from Lavender Bay.
Any Boat prides itself on the ability to find a boat for almost any occasion. We have had countless times where clients were unable to find the boat they needed and with a little bit of luck on our side we have managed to organise a cruise on the perfect boat.
The client list at Any Boat ranges from international celebrities and VIP’s, to large corporates, small businesses, and individuals looking to plan a party. Our doors are open to anyone that needs a boat no matter how big or small the cruise may be.
Moving forward we aim to become the first choice for anyone needing any kind of boat in Australia and with the staff and systems we have in place it looks like this will be achieved in no time at all.
Australia Day 2020 is a big one. It’s the first one of this new decade, and you can expect locals to go big on celebrations all over the country. From outdoor music fests and parties, to Australia Day Harbour cruises, there are tons of cool ways to enjoy this historic day.
With so many choices on how to celebrate the holiday, make sure that you plan on how you can make the most out of this long weekend. Here are 6 of the best things to do and best places to have the best Australia Day:
Go On An Australia Day Cruise
For those looking to celebrate Australia Day in sophistication, they can enjoy time with close friends and family in the comfort of a yacht by hiring party boats in Sydney.
Setting up for barbies and sipping on a few frothies while soaking up the sights of the beautiful harbour will surely complete your Aussie Day. Take the chance to enjoy the summer sun with a relaxing dip in the crystal blue waters of Sydney.
Cruising Sydney Harbour gives you Instagrammable viewing angles of the famed Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. And if your boat hire is scheduled around dinnertime, you’ll be able to dine under the stars, with the Sydney skyline as a dessert for your eyes.
Feel The Thrill In Sydney
If you’re a fan of sports and want to feel your heart racing on Australia Day, Sydney’s got your back. Several races are held in the city during this day, and many of those involve the harbour, so hiring a yacht can be an advantage in terms of having the best view.
Running since 1837, the 184th Australia Day Regatta will be one for the history books. Watch as hundreds of boats from ocean-racing yachts to 18-ft skiffers compete for who’s the best in sailing.
Another exciting race to watch is the Tall Ship Race, an event where historical masted sailing ships are pitted against each other to see who can sail the fastest. It starts from Bradleys Head to Sydney Harbour Bridge, with the first ship to reach the destination getting the coveted Tall Ship Trophy.
If you’re not fond of just watching, you can be a part of the race since they offer tickets for those who want to be on the wooden ship during the race. You’ll travel back in time before modern sailing, feeling the Sydney breeze upon your skin as you cheer on your team!
If classical sailing ships are not your cup of tea, you can watch the other well-known race in Sydney, the annual Ferrython. This event will have large modern passenger ships race around Sydney Harbour.
Tickets for boarding the competing ferries are available if you wish, but you can also watch the excitement from afar.
If you want a more private viewing of the races, you can get boat hire options in Sydney and cruise beside the course. It will offer you a more interesting view of the race while also letting you enjoy the amenities a party boat hire option offers. You can be near where the action is but you’ll be at peace without being at the centre of the crowd.
Swim For The Gold In Sydney Harbour Splash
While watching boats fly over the water is fun, you can also spend your Australia Day with an exhilarating and enjoyable workout if you enter the Sydney Harbour Splash. Open for everyone since its start 4 years ago, this unique event has caught the attention beach-lovers.
Sign up and partake in the growing community of people looking to stay active while having fun on the holiday. The course offers multiple options where beginners can start and where veterans can expect more challenges.
And if you win a medal, you can cap off the night with an Australia Day evening cruise. Host a party on top of a yacht so you can share with your guests how fun and exciting the swim was.
Hit The Parties, Shows, and Music
When it comes to parties and festivities, Sydney won’t lose to other cities in the world either. With several happenings around the metro for Australia Day, you will never be bored while waiting for night parties or your Sydney Harbour cruise.
The famous Sydney Street Party, which turns the city’s oldest suburb into a fun carnival, is a favourite among locals and tourists. Visitors can marvel at the market filled with booths that feature local art and fashion while taking in sumptuous street delicacies. Live bands and DJs provide music, livening up the vibe for everyone.
If you’re looking for a kid-friendly place, you can take your family to the Children’s Festival in Darling Harbour. This event lets your kids participate in games and activities that are not only fun but also educational.
Another family-inviting place is the BBQ By The Bridge. This party in Bradfield Park brings the Aussie tradition of enjoying barbecue and drinks on the national holiday. Live music, exciting games, greatly diverse cuisine, plus a peek of the wildlife.
No Australia Day is complete without the most popular live show of the holiday. Australia Day Live is a massive 3-hour party that has it all. From great music from famous stars, mind-blowing dancing boats, plus a mesmerizing fireworks display to end the night with a bang.
So whether you’re lounging comfortably at home, or chilling on an evening Australia Day Cruise with a glass of wine in hand, you can just turn on the telly to watch the famous show.
Climb Sydney’s Tallest Spot For A View
Australia Day might also be the perfect time to see a panoramic view of the whole city from at least 200 meters high.
One of the best and highest vantage points for this is the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. You can spend Australia Day on a unique exciting climb to the summit of this famous landmark that gives you a phenomenal view of the harbour and cityscape. Additional options for food, music and activities are available to make the experience more memorable.
Plus, the Ferrython can be seen from up here, so if you choose the right climb, you’ll be watching the popular ferry race from the top of the arch.
If you want a view from the heart of the city, you can head down to the Sydney Tower Eye. This 250 m tall building features an observation deck that lets you enjoy a 360-degree view of Australia’s capital. If that’s not enough, you can opt for a skywalk and take a tour of the tower’s open roof deck for an even more stunning sight. For a unique gastronomic experience, there’s also a rotating restaurant that lets you feast on delicious food and the best seat for overlooking Sydney.
Get some summer fun at the beaches
Australia is famous for a lot of things, and some of those are their Instagram-worthy beaches. If you’re planning for a fun and warm celebration of Australia Day, hitting up the breathtaking shorelines will be perfect for you.
Australia’s iconic Bondi Beach might get too crowded for Australia Day, but if you arrive earlier than the swarm of beach-lovers that will party here, you’ll be able to choose a favourable spot. There are many establishments around here so food and drinks are easy to get. And since its Australia Day, there might be fun dance parties worth checking out.
Another Sydneysider’s fave during this holiday is Gordon’s Bay. Plenty of sunbathing spots are available from the rocky beachside and lovely sand so you can get sunkissed. The clean waters will let you enjoy swimming, kayaking and more if you wish to get active.
Looking to escape the crowd? You can drop by Hermit Bay where it might be less crowded. It gives you a nice view of the opera house and harbour bridge while you enjoy food and drinks. You can swim in the lovely waters or cook up a sweat kayaking.
Whatever you decide to do on Australia Day, you can make the most out of it by ending it on a luxurious note with a cruise on the Sydney Harbour. After a fun yet tiring day, you can enjoy food catered by great chefs and relax with drinks after. Treating yourself, friends and family to a first-class party boat hire is a great way to cap off the first national holiday of 2020.
