I added one of the new Queensland boats today which is absolutely beautiful. If you CLICK HERE you will be able to see her.
This boat was built in 1985 and completely restored a few years ago. And they did a great job.
As soon as I saw her all the staff were at different ends scrubbing away to make sure the boat was sparkling. I met the captain who asked me aboard and gave me the grand tour and I was pretty impressed. As soon as I stepped on I could see how much effort went into the finer details of refitting the interior. Some of the original timber was kept around the widows and restored by hand and all of the new timber that was used throughout was specifically chosen to match the original restored timber.
We first walked through the galley which was modern and well equipped and went straight out the other side to a corridor that lead to the main saloon where there was everything you would epext from a yacht of this caliber including a plasma TV, plenty of room for entertaining and dinning and a small deck out the back which has a stairway down to a lower deck that is set up for game fishing. Yes game fishing. How cool is that? A super yacht with a game chair on the back to pull in a nice big marlin. The game chair got us talking and the captain explained that this vessel is often used as a mothership out at sea for game fishing charters.
After a small chat about the history of the boat we went downstairs and had a look at the bedrooms and bathrooms and were pleasantly surprised at how much room there was compared to other boats. It comfortably sleeps 8 guests. I can see how this would e a great mothership.
Finally we made our way to the top deck via the bridge and had a look at the sensational outdoor entertaining area. Upstairs has seating for 12 with standing room for many more. In fact there is enough room that the top deck converts to a helicopter landing pad with enough room for a Robinson 44 to land. There is a great canopy overhead to stop the sun from burning everyone while they are having lunch and even a sun bed . I could really see myself up there having a nice glass of wine and a cold seafood lunch with friends and family. Who knows, maybe when she heads down to Sydney next I will.
